MojoPac

MojoPac can be run on any Windows XP host computer that is logged in with administrator privileges without any provisioning of the host.

To use MojoPac on a host with limited mode login, RingCube provides MojoPac Usher.

MojoPac Usher is an application that can be installed on host computers to enable MojoPac to run with a limited mode host login. This enables public access computing centers, such as university computer labs and internet kiosks, to make their locked-down PCs compatible with MojoPac.

In either mode the MojoPac encapsulated environment is isolated from the host, providing security and preventing data leakage.

Configuration Options

MojoPac Usher can be configured by the host administrator with one of two host security levels. When the high security level is chosen, MojoPac is allowed to boot with limited user capability, giving MojoPac the same privileges as the host itself. If the medium host security level is chosen, MojoPac end users will be able to operate with the same privileges they would have on a host logged in with administrator privileges, even though the host login only has limited mode privileges.

Due to the isolation provided by the MojoPac Usher, only the MojoPac session – restricted to the MojoPac device – runs in this manner. Thus, the MojoPac user can install applications, launch applications that require drivers (such as games), and make other changes inside MojoPac while these operations remain prohibited on the host. This offers the best of both worlds to system administrators – allowing them to keep their PCs pristine while empowering MojoPac users with the freedom to run the applications they need at full performance.

Installing MojoPac Usher

A MojoPac Usher installer is included in MojoPac itself. When a user attempts to launch MojoPac on a host computer that is logged in with a limited mode account and does not have MojoPac Usher installed, the user will be prompted to install MojoPac Usher on that host. The MojoPac user can ask the administrator of that host to enter his credentials (login ID and password) to install MojoPac Usher. Thus, with a one-time setup the administrator of that host can authorize MojoPac to execute while the host is logged in as a limited mode user.
