You can speed-up your iPod or USB device by 2-3x for optimum Mojo experience.

Speed-up Your Mojo

Why do I need to speed-up my Mojo?

When USB storage devices (such as iPods or USB flash or hard drives) are connected to a PC, many times the PC automatically optimizes these devices for "safe removal", as opposed to "for performance". This default setting means the PC is trying to protect the device from being unsafely disconnected, and as a result, every write function to the device can take many times longer than it would normally take, resulting in slower application installation and run time on MojoPac. Since MojoPac has provisions built-in for safe removal, these extra write cycles are redundant. You can change the settings for your USB device and speed it up by 2-3x by following the 3 steps below.

How often should I do this?

Please note that these steps have to be executed only once per MojoPac device per PC. In other words, the Optimize setting is a one-to-one association between a specific PC and a specific device. If you connect the device to that PC again, it will automatically be optimized for performance. But if you connect the device to a new PC, you will have to optimize it for performance the first time around.

Note for super users: In general, formatting your USB Hard Drive with the NTFS file system provides higher reliability and performance for your device. NTFS formatting can be used for connecting the device to Windows PCs only (not MACs). iPods and other multi-purpose devices SHOULD NOT be formatted - but they can be optimized for performance. Flash devices are not recommended to be formatted to NTFS either, since it is likely to reduce their lifetime.
