Hey all,

I've just had this weird problem start a few days ago of not being able to delete or move items from the mojopac desktop - as in drag them to the recycle bin or drag them to another explorer window. The same thing happens when trying to drag and drop them from one open explorer window to another. I've tried restarting, etc. and the problem's still there.

I have discovered a work-around which is to open up 'my computer' and navigate to the desktop or folder I want, then click on a file and use either the 'move item' or 'delete item' links on the left. This is a bit of a hassle though and previously Mojopac has been working fine for me.

Could this be something to do with the XP SP3 update?

Cheers, Chris

Could you please let us know your PC details?

Yeah okay, not sure entirely what you're after but at the risk of being tedious here's all my PC details:

Acer Aspire 5102
Turion TL50 64 bit processor x 2, 1.6 GHz, 512KB cache
896 MB DDR2 RAM
Windows XP Home Edition (just installed SP3, had SP2 before)

And the USB device I'm running Mojopac off is a Creative Yion portable hard disk drive, 40GB, FAT32 file system.

Things were working fine previously so I've no idea why it's gone wrong now.

Thanks, Chris

woops, just realised the title of the thread has a typo - that should say 'dragging and dropping items NOT working...' :o

The current version of Mojopac 1.8.0.0 is tested upto Windows XP SP2 and we do not have tested data on running Mojopac 1.8.0.0 with SP3. Some of the users reported some issues with Mojopac and SP3. I recommend you to use the current version of Mojopac with SP2 only. However, the future version of Mojopac will definitely support SP3.

As a workaround, I recommend you to perform the below steps in Mojopac and check the drag and drop functionality :

1. Open My Computer
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Folder options
4. Under General Tab, click on Restore Defaults
5. Under View Tab, click on Restore Defaults
6. Click Apply, click Ok.

Thanks,

Gave the workaround a try and problem still seems to be there. I'll either system restore to SP2 or maybe just wait for the next Mojopac release. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I saw this behavior recently as well, and I'm on SP2. The behavior went away after a reboot.

I couldn't drag and drop myself. Found out when I went to delete something by dragging to the trash. That was a week or so ago. All of a sudden, yesterday I could D&D. Don't know what fixed this. It just throws me for a loop when things mysteriously start working after not working.
