View Full Version : WoW & Screen Resolution

I just wanted to see if anyone was having this issue and what they've tried to resolve it.

When I play WoW, no matter what machine I've attempted to play on, when I exit the game, my screen resolution on both mojopac and the host has been changed to 640x480. Normally, the screen is 1024x768 or 1260x1024 depending on the machine I've plugged into. I've looked to see if there was some kind of setting involved in keeping the resolution. But so far, I'm not finding any.

I'm running:
MojoPac Core: 1.8.0.0 (5745)
MojoPac Sync: 1.8.0.0 (5745)
This is the "Freedom" version.

Thanks,
Sam

This is happening to me, too. Very annoying.

I have a problem. I didn't know you were suppose to invalidate an install prior to reinstalling. Basically what happened was that my USB hard disk, which is where I have MojoPac installed, went bad so I had to reformat the entire drive and I added 2 partitions this time, one for Mojo and the other for myself. Well when I went to reinstall Mojo I ran into a problem where it said that the product key wasn't valid. That's when I found out that I had to invalidate the previous install prior to a reinstall. So you can see that I am having problems now. So how do I get around this issue? Please help.

I'm having the same issue as jedisamui and I'm hoping Mojopac has an answer for us.

I've been having the same problem. Also, when I try to run the game in "windowed" mode, it crashes the game, messes up the resolution and disables desktop spanning on 2 monitors:-(

Our developer's are rigorously working on the issue and you will be notified once the issue is fixed. However, could you please download the Mojopac patch mentioned below and check the functionality:

Same issue here when playing Call of Duty, Return to Castle Wolfenstien, and Aggressive. Have to switch to host, change res. and switch back to MOJO.

Sorry for dragging up a month-old threat, but.....

@mojotech - Is the 1.8.2 suppose to fix this problem?

I have only just discovered Mojopac and v1.8.0 was giving me the problem mentioned in the other posts in this thread. After running Football Manager 2008, the screen would go to 800x600 and I would have to go back to the host to re-set my screen res back to 1280x1024.

So, I installed the 1.8.2 patch attached to this thread and it hasn't solved the problem. In fact, it has made it slightly worse. Now, when I exit the game my monitor gives me an "out of range" error and the only thing I can do is reset/reboot my PC.

I am guessing the reason for this is that Mojopac is trying to use a refresh rate which my monitor doesn't support, rather than a screen res which isn't supported.

In case it is relevant, my graphics card is an Nvidia 6600.

This happens with pretty much every game I have tried (WoW, The Witcher, Pirates Online, etc.) VERY ANNOYING!!

I totally agree with you Peta.

As it happens I tried it on my laptop over the weekend - running an ATI mobility gfx card - and after exiting a game it reset the screen to a 640x480 resolution and a screen depth of 8bit. At least I can go back to the host and manually set it back to the 1280x768x32 res I normally run my laptop at. I don't have that option with my main desktop PC.

I'd be fascinated to know the reason why. I have tried games which run using OpenGL and ones which render using DirectX and it always does the same thing. So, I am pretty sure the issue is not game API specific.

I am guessing it must be gfx driver related. Maybe it is something like Mojopac is setting the display to the lowest resolution the gfx driver *thinks* it can display.

The lowest my laptop can display is 640x480x8 which is what Mojopac resets back to after exiting a game. I have noticed my main PC nVidia card lists something like 320x????x8 as the lowest selectable screen res but if I try to use it, it gives the "Out of range" error - exactly the same error as Mojopac generates when it exits a game. Game running in windowed mode don't give me any problems.

Hopefully, the Mojopac developers can resolve this issue soon. This is the one issue holding me back from buying a license. When (if?) this issue is sorted I will buy it straight away because Mojopac is an excellent piece of software.

I'm pretty sure anyone who runs a 3D game has this happen.... I've never heard of anyone who DOESN'T have this problem, and it's kind of huge....

Happens with the DirectX SDK (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=519aae99-b701-4ca1-8495-39ddde9d7030&DisplayLang=en) sample programs too, if you run them in fullscreen mode.

Has this problem been fixed yet? Sounds like it has't.

I run wc3, and after I exit the game, the resolution of mojopac is 640x480 and I have to switch to host to change the resolution. Very annoying!!!
