MojoPac™ Enterprise 2.0.0.0 Update Now Available

Dear MojoPac Enterprise Customers,

RingCube is pleased to announce the release of MojoPac Enterprise 2..0, which delivers an innovative enterprise desktop virtualization solution based on the award-winning MojoPac virtual desktop technology.  MojoPac Enterprise enables comprehensive lifecycle management of desktop workspaces and provides increased mobility with the support of industry standard IPSEC VPN clients.

What’s new in MojoPac Enterprise 2.0?

With MojoPac Enterprise 2.0, enterprises can manage workspace policies, make it easy for users to access workspaces from a self-service portal, and help users synchronize their host computer files with their MojoPac workspace.

Enterprise Management Console
The MojoPac Enterprise Administration Server is a workspace lifecycle management solution that enables administrators to create workspaces, deploy workspaces via a client portal, and apply policies to workspaces. MojoPac Enterprise integrates with Active Directory to authenticate users and automatically apply isolation, security and usage policies to users, groups and workspaces.

Client Portal
The MojoPac Client Portal makes it easy for end users to download and install pre-configured workspace masters and previously downloaded workspace instances they have created or customized. The MojoPac Enterprise administrator determines which users and groups have access to which workspace masters and can implement quotas that limit the number of workspace instances that can be activated by each user and group.

Data Synchronization
End users can now synchronize data files between the host computer and the MojoPac workspace. This functionality replaces the one-way Host-to-MojoPac data copy available in the previous releases.

Cisco VPN Client Support
In this release, customers can install a Cisco VPN client as part of the workspace so that end users get a fully packaged workspace that includes the Cisco VPN client and other business productivity applications. MojoPac™ 1.8.0.0 Update Now Available

Dear MojoPac Customers,

We are pleased to announce the release of MojoPac 1.8.0.0. This release includes many highly-anticipated features for both enterprise and individual customers.
The following new features are available for all enterprise and individual customers:

For our Enterprise customers, MojoPac 1.8 has many enhanced management, provisioning and deployment capabilities.

  • Active Directory authentication is now available.
  • Image creation and deployment have been made easier.
  • New configuration options are available to enforce data protection and security policies.
  • MojoPac can perform a security check on host computers.

Improved performance on flash drives
As many of you are aware, flash drives have lower read/write capabilities than an external hard drive. In this release, we have implemented new algorithms to improve the performance of MojoPac on flash drives. We also have introduced a tool "MojoMeter" that will determine the performance characteristics of the drive you are using and give you general guidance on the performance. This tool will run as part of the installation process.


Running MojoPac on host with limited mode access
Current version of MojoPac requires Admin privileges on the host computer to execute. In this new release, we are introducing a plug in called "MojoPac Usher". MojoPac Usher can be installed on the host computer and once it is installed MojoPac will execute on that computer even when used with limited access user login. This allows users to lock down their PC's, yet use MojoPac in a flexible way. Please note that you would need one time admin privileges to install MojoPac Usher.


Ability to run MojoPac on the host computer without an external USB drive

So far you needed a USB drive or iPod to garner the power of MojoPac. Not anymore. Now you can install MojoPac on the host computer just by selecting a directory where you want to install MojoPac. You can use MojoPac on the host computer by clicking on the shortcut on the desktop. When you need mobility you can just copy the entire MojoPac directory to an external USB drive and you can now take it with you. This feature allows you to have multiple partitions on your PC, for instance one partition for work and another for home without having to logout of the current user. If you have a shared computer at your home, each member of the household can use their session of MojoPac on the same host computer without corrupting other users applications or data.

MojoPac™ 1.6.9.0 Update Now Available
Dear MojoPac Users,

We are thrilled to announce the release of MojoPac 1.6.9.0 Update! With this update, we also release MojoPac Freedom, which provides the ability to carry personal applications, settings, and information on a portable drive for free. Existing customers will be updated to MojoPac Deluxe, which retains enhanced MojoPac configuration options. This update also contains some bug fixes.

MojoPac™ 1.0.6.0 Update Now Available
Dear MojoPac Users,

We are very excited to announce the release of MojoPac 1.0.6.0 Update! This update includes the following enhancements and improvements:

Enhancements:

1. MojoPac setup screens have been improved for usability:
a. Device setup and activation are now accomplished through a wizard.
b. A new user can test drive MojoPac for 7 days without registering. Web support and product update notifications are not available for test drive users.
c. A new user can now register with the MojoPac server during device activation. This registration enables activation of a MojoPac device for Trial or Purchased licenses. Registered users receive web support and product update notifications.

2. MojoPac licensing now allows mobility across VMware and certain non USB 2.0 compliant devices.

3. MojoPac installers are now code signed (digitally signed) for secure delivery over the Internet as an additional security for the customers. Publisher is "RingCube Technologies,Inc.".

4. MojoPac product activation is now compatible with Internet proxy software.

Improvements:

5. MojoPac product has been made more resilient during configuration errors through improved automatic recovery mechanisms.

6. UNC path support – users should now be able to create, delete, rename and move files on network drives as long as the user has access and appropriate permissions.

MojoPac™ 1.0.5.0 Update Now Available
Dear MojoPac Users,

We are very excited to announce the release of MojoPac 1.0.5.0 Update! This update includes the following enhancements and fixes:

1. Support for non-standard Windows install location: users will be able to install and run MojoPac on a host PC where MS Windows is installed in a place other than c:\windows.
Note: update from a previous version of MojoPac should be done on a host where Windows is installed in a standard c:\windows directory.
2. Enable/Disable product key: allows users to disable a MojoPac product key before enabling it on a new or a reformatted USB device.
3. Support for UNC path: access network resource using hostname or IP address within MojoPac.
4. Enable enhanced driver support: allows PunkBuster to be able to load its driver inside MojoPac. Please see “How to Enable PunkBuster Support” FAQ on the MojoPac Forum for the details.
5. Fixes for Recycle Bin issue. Deleted files and folders can now be located in Recycle Bin.
6. Fixes for Windows Media Player. WMP 10 can be installed in MojoPac while a host is installed with WMP 11.
7. Fixes for Internet Explorer 7 usability problem.
8. Fixes for Domain user related issues including missing entries in “All Programs” menu and creating shortcut issue.
9. Fixes for Outlook password caching bug.

Free Update to MojoPac Vista
We are currently working on a version of MojoPac that will support Vista. All customers will be notified when the MojoPac Vista update is available. This will be a free update for existing customers.

In addition, we are currently running a MojoPac Vista BETA program to a limited number of customers to test out, prior to releasing the update. Please send us an email at mojoguru@mojopac.com with your mojopac.com username if you are interested in testing the MojoPac Vista BETA.

MojoPac™ 1.0.2.5 Update Now Available
Dear MojoPac Users,

We are thrilled to announce the release of MojoPac 1.0.2.5 Update! This update includes the following enhancements and fixes:

1. Support for retail Microsoft Office: Retail copies of Microsoft Office can now be installed within MojoPac.
2. Support for IE7: You can now use IE within MojoPac with Hosts that have IE7.
3. TrueCrypt support: MojoPac will now work within TrueCrypt using the "File Container" option in TrueCrypt.
4. Limited User Mode for authorized environments: We provide enhanced support for environments like Universities, Schools, Libraries, and Enterprises that want to deploy MojoPac to connect to their Limited User Mode PCs.
5. USB space usage: A new icon has been added to the MojoPac toolbar that will now display the storage space remaining on the device where MojoPac is installed.
6. Fixes for software conflicts between MojoPac and some anti-virus/web filtering software on the Host PC.
7. Fixes for RS3 errors.
8. Fixes for occasional unintended Host/MojoPac switching.

MojoPac™ 1.0.1 Update Now Available
Dear MojoPac'ers,

We sent an email earlier this week to keep you posted on our 1.0.1 update. The key benefits of this release are:
1. Increase the number of boots during Trial. This patch will grant you an additional 100 boots of MojoPac so that you can try the product more extensively for free.

2. Expand the types of devices you can use to install MojoPac. MojoPac 1.0 was designed to support installation on all USB 2.0 Compliant devices:USB 2.0 Storage Specification

Through collaboration with Hard Drive companies, we have now expanded the support to USB hard drives with external cases that were not fully compliant with USB 2.0.

3. Fixing the majority of RS1 errors.

4. Adding more resiliency to the product.

5. Improving error reporting.

1.0.1 is a required update for all MojoPac 1.0s, since they are all in Trial mode. As soon as you purchase MojoPac (our store will open up next week!), you can choose to turn off automatic updates.

*Note* - You will need to reactivate your MojoPac device after the update to 1.0.1. This is expected behavior for this update.

Security Bulletins

MojoPac™ Security Bulletin # MP-0001

Severity: Medium

Abstract:
During a routine third-party security audit of the MojoPac product, a security vulnerability was identified that may allow inadvertent leaks of data to the host PC where MojoPac is running. While we have received no reports of any exploits abusing this vulnerability, we have decided to release this security bulletin to ensure that our users are made aware of the issue.

Affected Versions:
MojoPac 1.0.1.0 and earlier versions. Versions later than 1.0.1.0 are not affected.

Remediation:
The vulnerability is the result of an architectural incompatibility between Microsoft Windows and MojoPac. This incompatibility was addressed in MojoPac 1.0.2.0 and later versions. Users are advised to upgrade to version 1.0.2.0 or later. You can determine your MojoPac version by clicking on the MojoPac icon in your system tray and selecting "About MojoPac".
