Summary
MojoNet is a network desktop virtualization product that provides enterprises with centralized desktop management and enables real time provisioning of a secure corporate workspace to any remote desktop. MojoNet combines the best of centrally managed desktop virtualization with the performance of distributed computing.
It is ideal for workers in remote offices.
How It Works
Using MojoNet, enterprise IT managers can centrally configure and maintain user desktop images, while employees attach and use those environments via their secure corporate network. Applications are run on the employee PC, not on central computing resources. This can dramatically reduce the complexities associated with desktop management and result in a substantially lower total cost of computer ownership.
When an employee starts his network based MojoNet image, applications, configuration and files are streamed to his machine as needed. This effectively converts any Windows PC into a secure corporate desktop without the overhead of moving and storing that image on the local machine. Unlike other virtual desktop solutions, MojoNet uses the processing power, network connections and approved peripherals of the local PC. When the employee closes MojoNet, the entire workspace is instantly gone from the local machine, residing only on network attached storage.

Benefits
Ease of Centralized Management with Performance of Distributed Computing
Enterprises have been forced to choose between the advantages of centralized desktop management and local execution of applications. Centralized image management provides secure, easily maintained desktop environments. Until MojoNet, this has come with a high cost: the need to build out large centralized computing centers. With MojoNet, applications, files and configuration are streamed to the user’s machine as needed. Applications are executed locally, distributing the computational load across the enterprise. The distribution of computation allows MojoNet to scale naturally within large enterprises.
Easy and Rapid Desktop Disaster Recovery
Notebook and desktop computers fail. Disks crash, computers are dropped, kicked and flooded with coffee. In fact, up to one in five notebooks experience a hardware failure in their first year. Hardware repairs typically take several days and even then, the employee’s software and data must be recovered.
With MojoNet, the desktop image is stored centrally, so a spare PC can be given to the employee, and he can be up and running in minutes. There is no need to recover data or software configurations. Enterprises can economically implement desktop recovery schemes in the same way that data center disaster recoveries are planned.
Reduced burden on data centers and reduced heat problems
Because MojoNet applications run on the user’s PC, computational load is distributed across the enterprises. Desktop virtualization solutions that centralize computation can incur substantial costs related to data center build out. Part of the cost in these cases is power and heat abatement. The MojoNet solution requires only network attached storage for implementation. This can often be achieved by the assignment of existing storage in the data center or expansion of existing storage arrays.
Logical extension to the WAN acceleration solutions
MojoNet coupled with a WAN Acceleration solution takes the next logical step of moving all the applications installed on the desktops to the data center and hence simplify management significantly and enable instant recovery in the event of a disaster.
