Jeff Giddens, an education specialist based in South Georgia writes in his blog – SEGA Tech, how education community can benefit from MojoPac, interesting possibilities!

“I’ve been looking at MojoPac and thinking about how my friends and colleagues might react to this productivity tool. Most people I know like having their PCs, but hate lugging them around. MojoPac eliminates this kind of hassle. I know quite a few media specialists, teachers, administrators, and tech directors that would love to have access to all of their files and applications, which created them, without having to unpack a laptop. According to the MojoPac’s site , this intriguing resource turns any appropriate portable storage device (i.e., an iPod or gig-zed jumpdrive) into a portable PC. From what I gather, it allows users to create an image of their drive that can safely and easily be installed and/or removed from a hosting machine. If what I read is true it could be an excellent way to cart all of my digital junk around from place to place. I’m curious about how this approach to on-the-go access to tech will play out as opposed to web-accessible resources.”

Seen this yet?
We are now part of the Second Life knowledge base!

“If you are working on a computer that prevents you from installing applications, how can you run Second Life?

For people giving presentations at a conference or working on a computer in a lab with such restrictions, this is obviously a big problem!

Fortunately, there is a third-party application called MojoPac that will let you run a virtual Windows XP session from any USB2 removable device such as a flash drive or iPod. By using MojoPac, you can install Second Life on your removable device and run it without having to install it on the computer you are using. The experience is exactly as if you are logging into your Personal Computer, complete with your desktop, shortcuts, applications and preferences.”

Virtual life on virtual machine…Sweet! ;-)
